Weekly Dosage de Amor

Hi everyone. How's your week going?
As Crestless Wave said one of my favorite YA author said “August is a gentle reminder for not doing a single thing from your new year resolution for seven months and not doing it for next five.”
Do what you think is right and what makes you happy.  'Cause duh year 2019 is now ending.

Treasure Found

This first week of August is so sweet and a lot of things happened. Our investigator named Luis is really progressing. He is literally a ''gold'', he's one of our contact and he attended church yesterday. You know what is interesting about him is he really love the church and he love the messages of the gospel. We don't have a hard time teaching him the commandments and ordinances, 'cause he understood it well. He even have an interest in finding his ancestors via Family History. It is really cool, his my fisrt invest-ie that have an interest about  Family History. Luckily, our Family Consultant here in Jauja helped him to start his Family Tree. 🌳 And we really felt the Spirit of Elijah was present that day. We even invited him to be baptized this August 24, which he accepted and we found out that this date is his birthday too. Is that coincidence? I think no, it's God's perfect timing si. πŸ•°
Along this challenging days and weeks here in Jauja, he is a relief and a treasure for us. A reason to do missionary work.  πŸ––

Preach my Gospel - Tool and Guide

Oftentimes, we feel that we know all the principles our missionary work and how to do stuffs that we know about missionary work. But we are all wrong.

Our mission is focusing on us studying Preach My Gospel Chapters everyday. As we studied it again, we understand more each principles that PMG is teaching. I even found out some cool scriptures to share in every lessons and even found a chapter that helps us how to Find People (Chapter 9). It was amazing.
Sometimes, missionaries including me, thinks that we know all, but as we study this book we are continually reminded that every pages, chapters and verses you will learn and re-learn some things that are essential to be a better missionary.
I love Preach my Gospel and it's teaching. It is truly a guide for us not only for full-time missionaries but for all. πŸ“–

La Autoridad y Poder del Sacerdocio

So, one of the things about being an Elder is you are always in-demand. We blessed 2 kids this Saturday, one of them is from US so I was happy to give a blessing in English. πŸ˜‡ Then, we blessed the apartment of Las Hermanas since their was weird spirit roaming according to them. Lastly, we blessed a member that is struggling in an addiction. It went fine. I truly testify that priesthood is the power and authority of God given to man, including the authority to perform ordinances and this power was the same power as Jesus had when He was on earth to heal the sick and the afflicted.

Scammers and other stories
''Scammer'' is the term I use to refer those people who will say ''come again in my house and we will talk'' or '' come back the next day'' and soon after they're not in their house or sometimes their hiding.

I just hope that people will be more honest to say NO if they don't like to listen to us rather than making appointments with them and  walking miles and we're like ending up for nothing. Ang sakit umasa. #hugot.

In the end of the day, at least we did our job and no effort is wasted. πŸ˜…

Other Stories
Last Friday, the apartment (backyard) of las Hermanas was burnt. It is really funny 'cause they called us about 11 pm at a lot of smokes outside. πŸš’πŸ”₯
Talk to everyone. This is what I learned from studying PMG and it went well.
My wisdom tooth is growing and it hurtsssss. Part of  the process of wisdom is having painnnn. #hugot.

That's all for today! I wanna leave you this message from Gordon B. Hinckley says
“Cultivate an attitude of happiness. Cultivate a spirit of optimism. Walk with faith, rejoicing in the beauties of nature, in the goodness of those you love, in the testimony which you carry in your heart concerning things divine.”

My gosh I miss tuyo and buro. Can someone send me here in Peru. Huhuhu. Pati nadin dinuguan at pinapaitan. (cries in Spanish)
'Sup. He's our investigator Luis
