Start Breathing (31 Mar 2020) From the Vault
Since there was no internet shop operating when quarantine was proclaimed in Peru on March 15, 2020, this email and blog were left off the blog.
Hello everyone. I am still breathing don't worry.
Hello to Everyone. Don't worry, I am still breathing.
Despite everything, my health is still good. I believe that not listening to the news might significantly improve our lives. Our inner serenity would be stolen if we are aware of all the information regarding the fatalities and cases of N-COVID19. Consider the positive aspects of things instead. Read the Bible while listening to an audiobook. Embrace your family. Reestablish contact with your old pals. Pray while working out!
Both in Peru and across the world, things are becoming worse. I had believed that this quaratine would only last a week, but the number of casualties is rising. We are only permitted to attend our pensions for meals and are no longer permitted to wander the streets. We began receiving food from our mission president and his assistants so that we wouldn't leave the building. This diet consists of staples like cereal, milk, and a few snacks. Although insufficient, we nonetheless appreciate their efforts.
There is no accessible internet shop. I can say with certainty that my parents are really concerned about me. I always pray for them. There isn't a day goes by that I don't. We recently relocated to a new apartment. It's a good thing we left before the pandemic since our former flat was quite hideous. For weeks, I struggled to see myself residing there comfortably.
I'm making an effort to love my companion more, and I know that he's doing the same. We lament the abrupt changes. According to what we've heard, all Native Americans are currently returning to their country. We started sobbing when we realized it was no longer funny.
We still call our investigators every day. The only thing we could do ensure that their welfare is still on our mind. Since we're just sitting here in our apartment doing nothing, doing this will also enable us to make better use of our time. We're fortunate to have our own wifi in our place. The camera on Elder Julca can send pictures. Using his camera, I am sending brief messages to my family as a last resort to keep them informed. Things are indeed different I could not really imagine having ''Reunion de Distritos'' by just being on the phone.
Overall, I believe that God is at the helm. As Jesus Christ said in John in chapter 7 as says ''Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.''
Take care of yourselves. It may take a bit longer but everything will be fine. Sadly, we still can't go home. As my friend Carmelli said they have to take out all missionaries in Lima first, and their taking missionaries 5 (freaking 5) per batch. Sigh. So, I might stay here more.
Hasta Pronto.
