Angels Cry Too (drama alert)
Hola everyone. I don't know if still relevant to write an email right now. Like, heck, who cares about me now. You know that feeling. But anyway it's still great to write what really happened this week here in my mission.
I am not really good, to be honest. I am in a difficult time. I am looking forward to another transfer at the end of the month. I have some sort of fights with my Peruvian companion and we are not really getting along. Our situation is getting toxic kind of way. We even had an emergency interview with our president to fix our problems. It went fine. It went well.
My President advised me to take a stance and defend myself. He stated that I cannot constantly be pleasant to others. Because, first and foremost, you will be abused and used. It doesn't matter if others don't like you, he added; "what is right is right," and being obedient has no "gray zone."
This has been a wonderful experience for me. I am thankful for our God's plan that allows all of His children to start again and change through His grace. It's a simple idea to teach, but it's powerful when put into practice. Wounds will be treated and cured. Hearts that have been broken will be mend. Souls that have become weary will be redeemed. His atonement is this. This is something I can attest to.
This week went so fast and was wonderful. We had 10 people who went to the church. I saw the hand of God working on us. We found a new family. They are super receptive and nice people. Their names are Vanessa (inactive) and her 2 chiquis and Ruth her mom and Alexcia her sister.
They contacted us in the street which is really awesome.
We also had a division with our Zone Leaders. It was really good. We contacted different types of people. Learn some teaching skills from other Elders. Learn how loving people away from your area is cool. I am super grateful for everything. I love you all. You guys are awesome.
I am holding on to this promise as Joseph Smith received when he was in jail that could be found in Section 122 of Doctrine and Covenant
‘If thou art called to pass through tribulation; if thou art in perils among false brethren; perils among robbers; perils by land and sea; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the billowing surge conspires against thee, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, Joshua that all these things shall give thee experience and shall be for thy good.’

During our interview, I started crying. Then I dumped everything out. Everything that occurred. I expressed my sadness to him. I told him I wasn't deserving to be on the mission. How I believe I am undeserving of being here. But he advised me that I needed to alter and improve as soon as possible.
In me, I am feeling the power of Jesus Christ's Atonement. I'm sorry for being such a "passive" missionary. I'm repenting for being a "Lamanite" most of the time and being pessimistic about the world, how I doubt God and His might. Everything.
"What occurred simply happened, the time is now to move on and do the work," our president remarked after our interview. It was a tremendous statement.
