Nuevos Chismes
Hola a todos. Ha sido una semana y es muy rápido. Quería escribirte en español hoy, ya que acabo de celebrar mis ocho meses aquí en mi misión. Quiero que sientas lo que siento cuando estudio español todos los días.
Pero... ayoko mahirap (I can't)
What's up everyone. I heard it is rainy. Yes, congratulations for everyone of you since one Latino member here said that Pacquiao just won! I feel proud to be Pinoy, naks.
Here are some of the stories last week
Old Haunted House
Last Jueves we did a service in an old house here in Jauja (an investigators house). With the force of the Hermanas missionaries we cleaned up a bodega and it is really dirty and creepy by the way. The bodega have a creepy old stuffs like syringes and other medical stuffs. We even find some old books and journals way back 1960's.
It is really funny since this Peruano missionaries (my comp and the two Hermanas) are little bit exargerated since they said they felt something like evil-spirits in that house. I don't even felt something, I just felt disgusted cleaning that house. My OCD attacked.
If ever that there are some spirits there I will testify that the Holy Ghost cannot stay on a dirty and untidy places. So you gotta clean up your place. Haha.
Learning Continues
Like what I said before, mission is a great to learn about the gospel and of course learning to love people. It is really essential. Sometimes, it is really hard to love people if they don't love you back. Naks, naman hugot. But, Jesus Christ showed us an example to love our enemies or even the people that doesn't love us back.
We met an old guy here yesterday and he said that people of Jauja are ''egoista y orgulloso''. That's why the work here is really challenging. But it is fine. We still found new 2 investigators this week. What adds more the difficulty here is my comp. I also have little bit problems with him. I don't know why? He's has something and it is really hard to read him as a person, sometimes.
It is really tough but the promises of God is real. That He will hold us when we're falling and sad. This week I´ve learnt a lot about this hard moments that I am experiencing. I learned to pray earnestly. I learned to be more patient with my comp. I prayed more and got closer by the love of our Savior.
Pero don't worry mi familia y amigos. Elder Gamboa was made strong and hello nothing beats a Pinoy. Hahaha.
I am still holding on what prophet Joseph Smith said while he was a prisoner ... the Lord said unto him be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
I testify that. And he added then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.
Kaya konting tiis na lang. Besides, 6 more to go it already changes! So, I wish to be transfer away from here! Haha.
Mini-CCM Failed
So, we planned here to have an activity so called Mini-CCM (failed version)
Anyway, have you heard about the Hora Peruana, well hora Peruana is like being late for about an hour or more in any activities here in Peru. And it is really normal here. Haha.
Mini-CCM aims to help members of Jauja how to teach the gospel in casual settings and it aims to help members to understands basic doctrines of the church like Priesthood and Testimony. The motives are really great.
But...
Plot Twist is few people came. Only 10 people came and it is really lame. Wow, it rhymes. Haha. It really sad pero I just remembered I am here in Jauja, like what's new! Haha.
.......................................................................................................................................................
Yeah, that's all for today. Our mission now are dedicating and focusing more in Predicad mi Evangelio. So, we will study it again to become a better missionaries.
This weeks Semana Peruana. 28 de Julio es Dia de Patria de Peru, kaya mag-handa na kayo, puro fiesta na naman dito. Hahaha.
