Earth Quaker
I got interviewed by a correspondent of Liahona a worldwide magazine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Just joking. Interviewer: How´s your week?
Elder Gamboa: Pretty good, we did division this week with the other Elders of Ambo 3. I am with Elder Garfias again and he is super cool. He's from Mexico anyway. I was able to see the Ambo 3's area and it is huge compare to us, it is really rough there since it is subida tambien. Also, this week is little challenging since people are not in their houses. Parents here are always busy since they have to attend meetings in schools and we don't know why. We always hear the saddest lines: no esta (he/she is not here) or el/ella salio (he/she left).
It's little sad but todo bien, what they always say no effort is wasted.
Interviewer: Any exciting moments this week
Elder Gamboa: Yeah, there's terromoto (earthquake) here in Peru ad it is really strong. Like, 8.0 magnitude, imagine that. We're all sleeping nice last Sunday at 2:45 am and our bed is shaking for about 2 minutes. It is really strong. Funny thing is after shaking we just kept sleeping and not even scared about the aftershocks. Hahaha.
Also, my comp was constipated for 3 days. Our pension gave him a lot of pills and I felt so sad watching him taking a LOT of pills and weirds herbs and syrup just for him to bombar. Haha. I even took one herbs that he was taken and it is really bitter. I almost puke. But, after all those treatmnet he did it. #exito.
Interviewer: How's the food? weather? and your body?
Elder Gamboa: I been eating a lot this week. I been with the other Elder's pension and it is so satisfecho. Hermana Martha cooks so good, her arroz have aceite on it and it is really good. She even prepared escabeche that tastes like adobo, a bit and I enjoyed it a lot.
Well, the weather is really weird. It is somewhat cold but really sunny, I don't sweat a lot but I am burning. So people here call me #negro. Haha.
I am feel that I am getting bigger, I don't know. I am always tired, because we always climb hills I love avocado, there's a lot of avocado here. Anyway, avocado is best when you put salt and tomato on it. Promise.
Interviewer: How's the work? your district?
Elder Gamboa: It is really sweet. Everyday is challenge and it is really like jumping to unknown since people here sometimes like cancelling their citas or appointments. Pero, we found people that can progress. We found Bryan, husband of a members. He is really coold and he could be baptized I swear.
Our district is really fun and amazing. Elder Price , our district leader, is really funny, he celebrated his birthday this week and we ate the most disgusting cake here in Peru the gelatina cake but Mission President gave him chocolate cake and it so good. Our activities are working too members and non-members are coming. It is so good. Noche Deportivo is nice way to introduce the church easy. I hope it continues.
That's all for today.
