His Promise

Hola, como esta. I am back. Guess what? I am gaining weight. Hahaha. Blame it to rice and muchos papas here in Ambo. Anyway, I just don´t care since my mama always told me to eat a lot. I am super obedient.

This week is so maravilloso. We are climbing a lot and we have intercambios (exchanges) with Ambo 3. Elder Garfias from Mexico stayed in our are for 3 days.

Aside from that. We met a lot of people in Huallya and they are really great. People of Huallya are so humble and amable (kind). One of them is Brillith, our persona con interes is getting baptize this Saturday, and the coolest part of it is also her dad gave us the references even though he is not a member of the church. We visited his reference and they are super cool. We met 5 people, mainly H. Elizabeth and she lived with her small family. She´s so kind and really need help. Her husband left them and she´s alone helping her family. It´s really sad but I know that gospel will bless their lives. We might not able help them financially or dramatically but giving and helping them recognize that God have a promises and plans for them  will definitely help. This promises are abundance of peace and eternal happiness that money can´t buy.  To grow and rise above poverty. I know it is true, because this happened in my own family. I testify it and it is God-proven.
We also met an abuelo Idelberto (grandpa) and her daugther is super kind to let us enter in their house. He´s old like 80 years old and he can go to outside since he can´t so he let us in to hear the message of God. We taught him that God can forgive him in his pecados (sins) just ask Him by repenting. His daughter said that he really needs since he made a lot mistakes before as person, husband and father in his family but as God promised to us in  Isaiah 1:18: “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” The promise is real. Old or young, rich or poor or any kind of person needs to know that He is there and He is ready to forgive us. That´s why I am doing this obra misional (misisonary work) for 2 years to help people to understand that His gospel and His son Jesus died for us to be save and find our peace while having a lot trials. The message is really simple but the work is not. But, through his help, I know I can.

Aside from this, I also ate the best lemon iced slushy helado H. Lucia did that (other pension). It is really delicious. We also had frackesa de pollo last Tuesday and it is lit as fire. It taste like home. Hahaha. We also love hamburger streets here. They´re so cheap 3 soles (50 pesos) and worth every bite. I also bought Aji-no-men a Peruvian counterpart of our Lucky Me brand. Hahaha. I love instant noodles. Haha. Now, you´ll know why I am getting fat. I also have cough and cold last 3 days but foods cured me. Hahaha. But I fasted this first Sunday so I am fine. Haha

I bought a hat to cover my face because it is sunny here. I can now read El Libro De Mormon without looking at English version. I have gift of interpretation now. I am also confident now to start conversations in Spanish, though sometimes it´s broken. Hahaha. Also, students here in Ambo often ask us to help them in their English songs, one of their projects in school. We´re teaching them the correct pronouciation and thanks that I good voice so they love me. Hahaha. Mintira.

Anyway, I miss you all. I miss you all as much as I miss chicharon.
