Primamera Times: Update

Tengo gozo en mi alma,
donde todo es amor y paz
y Cristo reina con amor;
tengo gozo y solaz.

Touchdown I am here in Huanuco again.

I don't know where to start. I can't pick words to describe how blessed I am to be here in my 'nueva area''. Because at last, I can wear shirts that have ''mangas cortas'' or short sleeves. Just to inform you, Huanuco is tagged as ''mejor clima en mundo'' or best climate in the world. It's true, the weather here is 'perfectow'. It is not cold nor hot, it is just dusty. I love to be here. Like, I really really love to be here!

The climate here reminds me so much of the summer of 2012 (the best summer of my youth). Just a quick story, the reason I like the year '12 'cause it is the year when I entered university. Everything was new. Everything was perfect to start a new 'me'. Then I was so excited to experiment life and meet all the goals I had as a 16-year-old chubby guy.  Those same feelings I had suddenly flashed back in my mind when I got here in Huanuco. It was refreshing to feel my old self again after years of losing it. (ang drama)

Additionally, one thing I like about my new area is it's 'plano' or flat, no need to climb ''lomos'' or hills. Primavera is a miniature of Lima. I love it. We have everything here like malls, ATM machines, supermarkets, and building. It's perfect!

I would also like to give a compliment with my new area's ward. They're really rad. I mean they're really appealing and cool. They're supportive and lovable. One thing too, they always invite missionaries in their houses and share their food. I think I will be fat here!
Oh, don't forget our pensions. They're really good-hearted and they cooks ''real'' food. My pension's name is Mama Meche! I love her!

To make them happy and recognize me as a representative of God in their ward. I always smile and joke around with them because if they felt comfortable with me the more ''references'' I/we could have in the ward. I just keep loving people as Jesus did when He was here on earth. 'Cause love is everything. If you want to leave a mark or legacy in your areas or ward you just need to do the work and love what you're working!

I love when other missionaries told me some stories about some members of my past areas that still remember ''an amazing  Filipino missionary served in their ward that has a good singing voice, kind and cool''. Those compliments I received is really enough to make me go. Though, sometimes they forgot my last name. Hahaha. Man, I just happy!

I love my new comp. He is Elder Sanchez from Guayaquil, Ecuador. He's an awe-inspiring person. He likes to joke around and he likes to eat too. He likes banana. 🍌 He like Korean dramas too (which is really rare since he's Latino). He's cool and humble. We taught me a lot of things about our areas and how to do things right.

We suppose to be in a trio this change. The office called me to train a new missionary this change but my ''son'' (as they call it here in mission) doesn't have a Peruvian visa. So, I ended up with just Elder Sanchez. But, it's fine. Things happened for reasons!

This week was so astounding I experienced a lot of ''first time'' moments here as a missionary. Anyway, I was called to be a District Leader here in my area. Crazy right, I only have 9 months here in my mission and 57% of Spanish and they called me to serve as an ''Ele De'' or Lider de Distrito.

They even called me ''Presidente de Sociedad de Soccorro'' or President of Relief Society. Why? Because of my district consists of three pairs of sister missionaries and one pair of elder. It is insane to work with sister. I often hates sister (I am sorry guys but it's true) because of sister missionaries are often dramatic and sensitive PERO they're hard-working and lovable. Oh my, I love my district. They're funny and mixed up.

Here is the list of my (international) District:
Hermana Bjorling (New York)
Hermana Rodrigues (Mexico)
Hermana Sobero (Peru)
Hermana Gonzalez (Peru)
Hermana  Ramirez (Argentina)
Hermana  Sanchez (Bolivia)
Elder Sanchez ( Ecuador) he's my comp
Elder Seamons (Utah)
Elder Gonzalez (Bolivia)

I also interviewed an investigator of Hermanas of Alameda for her baptism. While I am interviewing her I felt scared 'cause I don't know what to do ('cause it is my first time) PERO it went well I felt the Spirit was guiding me and helped her to be comfortable, to make the story short she passed her interview. She was baptized last Saturday!

This week I also witnessed my first Civil wedding here in Peru. Yomar is an investigator of the old missionaries here in Primavera. He decided to be baptized for that he needed to be married first. The ward helped him to have his documents. Missionaries waited three months for the papers to process. The good news was last Thursday the long wait is over because Yomar and Sheyla were married. The ceremony is pretty legal like the notary just read some articles regarding marriages and after that, they made their vows. Then signing off papers.

We prepared something in the Capilla. I and my comp served as a waiter of foods. It is a really fun experience. Getting married here in Peru is not that extravagant as we do it in the Philippines. They just prepared ''bocadillos'' or snacks like hotdogs, puff-corns, and pieces of bread. Like, I was amazed. Super ''barrato'' kind of wedding. Hahahaha.

Then, the day after. Yomar was baptized! 🌊Wooohooo. And was confirmed as a member of the Church yesterday! 💪 Cheery moments here!

The work here is really progressing. We are meetin' a lot, good people. This week we found some ''golds''. They're really ready to receive the gospel like Hermana Jaselina and Magda. Man, I love them! They're super receptive!

That's all for the week. It's been tiring 'cause I travel again 8 hours of bus ride PERO it is a wonderful week. Wishing you all a good life.

Keep safe and avoid negativity. Tamang vibes lang!

Remember this always!

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
